Tata’s affordable EV gets its biggest update yet
Tata Motors has given the Tiago electric vehicle (EV) a comprehensive makeover, making India’s most accessible electric hatchback more stylish, feature-rich, and premium than ever before.
While the battery options, range figures, and core electric powertrain remain largely unchanged, the new Tiago EV introduces significant updates in design, technology, and cabin experience.

Sharper exterior design gives the New Tiago EV more road presence
The biggest transformation is visible on the outside. Tata has redesigned the front fascia with sleeker LED headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights, replacing the older and simpler lighting setup.
The closed-off EV grille now looks cleaner and more futuristic.
The bumper has also been redesigned, creating a wider and more aggressive stance. New alloy wheel designs further modernise the profile without altering the vehicle’s compact dimensions.
At the rear, the changes are even more noticeable. The facelift introduces connected LED tail lamps linked by a red light bar, a design trend seen in many modern vehicles.
The bumper has been restyled, and the reverse lamp has been repositioned for a cleaner appearance. Tata has also introduced fresh colour options, including Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, and Pangong Pulse.
Completely refreshed cabin feels more premium

The old dashboard layout has been replaced with a layered design featuring premium fabric inserts across the dashboard.
The cabin now feels more sophisticated and less utilitarian than before. The seats receive new teal-and-grey upholstery, adding a fresh visual identity to the EV.
Another notable change is the updated steering wheel. While it retains the familiar two-spoke design, it now features Tata.ev branding instead of the traditional Tata logo, emphasising the car’s electric identity.

Power outputs and charging capabilities also remain largely unchanged.
The car continues to support AC charging as well as DC fast charging, making it practical for daily commuting and occasional longer drives.
Pricing of the New Tiago EV
The New Tiago EV prices start from Rs 6.99 lakh or Rs 699,000 (ex-showroom) to Rs 9.99 lakh or Rs 999,000 for the top variant.
For the first time, the Tiago comes with a Battery as a Service (BaaS) option where the car is priced at Rs 4.69 lakh or Rs 469,000.
But with this option, the charges are Rs 2.60/km for the battery and you need to travel at least 1,500 km in a month. So, the cost comes up to Rs 3,900 per month.
