Longest driving range in a full-size electric SUV
One of the Da Tang EV’s biggest highlights is its claimed 950 km battery range, making it one of the longest-range full-size electric SUVs available today.
The SUV uses BYD’s latest second-generation Blade Battery, a technology known for its safety, durability and energy efficiency.
The entry-level model features a 105.7 kWh battery, while higher variants receive a larger 130.1 kWh battery pack to deliver extended driving distances.
For drivers who frequently travel long distances, this range could significantly reduce charging stops and improve overall convenience.
Flash charging that changes the game
Range is only part of the story. Charging speed is where the Da Tang EV truly stands out.
Built on a 1,000-volt high-voltage architecture, the SUV supports BYD's latest flash-charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 97 per cent in just nine minutes under ideal conditions.
Supporting this technology is BYD’s rapidly expanding charging network, which now includes 6,682 flash-charging stations across 321 cities in China.
The growing infrastructure makes long-distance EV travel more practical than ever before.
Powerful performance meets everyday comfort
The Da Tang EV offers both single-motor and dual-motor configurations.

Powerful performance meets everyday comfort
The Da Tang EV offers both single-motor and dual-motor configurations.
The rear-wheel-drive models generate up to 370 kW, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces a remarkable 585 kW of maximum power.
Performance is equally impressive.
The all-wheel-drive model accelerates from 0-100 km an hour in just 3.9 seconds, while the rear-wheel-drive flagship completes the sprint in 6.2 seconds. The SUV also boasts a top speed of 250 km an hour.
Despite its performance credentials, the Da Tang EV remains practical for family use with generous dimensions measuring 5,263 mm long, nearly 2 metres wide, and a 3,130 mm wheelbase, creating a spacious cabin.
Luxury interior packed with smart technology
Inside, BYD has focused on comfort as much as technology.
The SUV adopts a unique 2+2+3 seven-seat configuration, offering generous room for passengers.
Front occupants receive dual zero-gravity seats, while the second row features zero-pressure aviation seats designed for superior comfort during long journeys.
The Da Tang EV also comes equipped with God’s Eye 5.0, BYD’s latest advanced driver-assistance system.
A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supports assisted driving on city roads as well as highways, enhancing convenience and safety.
Additional premium features include DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, adjustable ride height, road preview capability, rear-wheel steering and even a crab-walk mode, helping the large SUV manoeuvre in tight spaces with ease.

Can the Da Tang EV revive BYD’s SUV sales?
Although the company recently recorded a slight recovery in overall new energy vehicle sales, the Tang SUV family has struggled over the past year due to intense competition and limited product updates.
The latest model is expected to strengthen BYD’s position in the premium SUV segment while competing directly with rivals from Leapmotor, Onvo, Li Auto and Huawei-backed Aito.
If strong customer interest translates into sustained sales, this flagship model could play a major role in reinforcing BYD’s leadership in the global electric vehicle market.
With its combination of exceptional driving range, ultra-fast charging, premium comfort and cutting-edge technology, the BYD Da Tang EV appears well positioned to become one of the standout electric SUVs of 2026.
